lunchtime
All children (not Nursery), are provided with a free hot school meal as part of the Government’s initiative of Universal Free School Meals. Menus are displayed at the school office and are repeated weekly. If you wish your child to “opt out” of having a meal please put this in writing to the Head teacher.
Our team of eleven Lunchtime Supervisors care for the children during lunchtime. They work hard to ensure that your child enjoys his/her meal and is happily occupied during this time. Play activities are organised and equipment/toys provided. Year 2 children take it in turns to help the lunchtime supervisors. Year 2 children are chosen to be school monitors each week and at the beginning of the year help the Reception children to settle into the routine at lunchtime.
Playtime
Playtime in the morning is 10.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.
Two members of staff are on duty during this time to ensure the safety of the children.
Reception class children currently have their own playground with bikes, scooters and a variety of other toys. They join the older children for lunchtime playtime, in the school playground and on the field.
Water is available to all children throughout the day from water dispensers. Fruit is provided at no cost during each morning break. If you would like your child to have milk at this time there is a charge to those parents who would not be entitled to Pupil Premium or Free school meals.
assemblies and collective worship
Assemblies and collective worship are held every day as a school or within a class. Collective worship is planned to cover a variety of topics in line with Our School Values and is of a broadly Christian nature. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of Assemblies / Collective Worship should they so wish. Arrangements should be made with the Head teacher.
Congratulations Assemblies are held each Friday to invite parents into school to share their child’s celebrations and congratulate them for their achievements.
Reception, Year 1 and 2 Congratulations Assembly – Friday 9.00a.m.
Congratulations assembly will also feature children who have a birthday that week as well as those children whose names have been entered into the GOLDEN BOOK for good behaviour and reached the gold at the top of the Behaviour Rocket in their class. The Behaviour Rocket is used in every class in the school.
